Evictions in Lancaster County by the Numbers

The Lancaster Stands Up Housing team has worked hard over the last year to gather case level eviction data for Lancaster and 39 other counties. This is all built off of a unique dataset that has case level eviction data. The inspiration of this work was to find out the real story. Our politicians told us that there wouldn't be an eviction crisis. They told us that no one is really affected by housing during COVID. Our experiences told us otherwise and wanted to see if the data backed us up. To us it is clear - no one should be kicked out of their home during a global pandemic, what you see below are not just statistics - they represent real lives in crisis due to the greed of local landlords and developers.

The visualizations below are built off of this dataset our team has produced using public Pennsylvania court records.

Behind this data are thousands of stories that need to be heard. If you have a story to share about your experience with housing or have information on negligent landlords please share your story at the bottom of this page.
